Preliminary steps
Cleanse your nails perfectly: Using a natural solvent and disposable cotton, remove your old varnish. Prefer a gentle and moisturizing solvent, so as not to dry out your nails and your skin at the same time.
Exfoliate: To get rid it of dead cells around the nail, you need to exfoliate it very gently. But, be careful not to go over your nails, at the risk of scratching them!
The classic ritual
Equalize the length of your nails: Cut your nails first with nail clippers to remove as much material as possible. Then, take a nail file, and make small movements, always in the same direction.
Soften your cuticles: Apply an emollient gel or lotion to all your cuticles and massage lightly. Then, soak your fingertips in a bowl filled with warm to hot water. Wait about 5 minutes.
Push back your cuticles: Take a wooden stick and gently push your cuticles in small circular motions. Cut them with nail clippers if they are too annoying and protrude. Sometimes, they come off on their own thanks to the emollient gel applied before.
Nourish your cuticles: Armed with your oil, massage a drop on each cuticle to soften the skin and regenerate it.
Varnish application
Apply a base coat: Transparent, it protects the nail from the varnish that you will then apply, preventing its coloring. It also allows it to adhere better and last longer.
Superimpose two coats of varnish: Choose it natural, of course! If you have exceeded, take your wooden stick with a little cotton and soak it in solvent. Then, gently go over where there is polish on your skin.
Finish with a layer of top coat: Colorless, it brings shine and makes your nail polish last forever.
Dry your homemade manicure: Bring a nail dryer, which helps to freeze and consolidate your varnish.
The final touch
Cream your hands: Once your nail polish is dry, brush your handcuffs with specific hand cream. Ideally, it should be well moisturizing and not leave a greasy film on your skin.
