• Start by doing your usual manicure;
• Boil water in a saucepan;
• When the varnish is completely dry, pass your nails through the steam, several times, and for a few seconds.

Matte top coats

Matte top coats are specially designed to remove all the shine from any nail polish. To apply it is very simple:

• Perform your usual manicure;
• Apply a first coat of matte top coat.

You can apply a second, but know that if this makes your varnish matte, it will also make the color of your varnish pale.

These are very simple recipes, achievable with ingredients that you certainly have at home, or that are very easy to find in supermarkets.

The yeast

For this matte polish recipe, you need regular nail polish, baking powder, a sieve, a container, and a brush.

• Perform your usual manicure;
• Don’t let your nails dry and apply the yeast directly on them using the soft brush;
• Don’t forget any area of the nail;
• Then brush your nails with another brush, in order to remove the yeast;
• For resistant grains, you can dip your brush in water;
• Then let it dry.

Cornstarch

To make this recipe, you will need nail polish in the color you want and cornstarch.

• Open your nail polish and insert the paper funnel, without the tip touching the polish. If the point touches, cut it off;
• Add a few pinches of cornstarch into your funnel, with a spoon. The powder must be added gradually so as not to create a compact varnish;
• If your polish doesn’t contain small steel balls, you can add two or three in your new matte nail polish;
• Close the bottle, then stir for a few minutes;
• Before storing all your equipment, do a first test on your nail or on a piece of paper, to check that the varnish is sufficiently matte.

Before full use, we advise you to wait 24 hours. Thus, the powder and the pigments will have time to dissolve properly in the varnish. The rendering will be smoother and therefore less lumpy.
